Today we met our friends the Slocums for our neighborhood Easter egg hunt. The kids were so excited to get out in the sunshine. It was incredibly windy, but we did get beyond 5o degrees today. Unlike Texas, Maryland has truly four seasons. I love it, but I have to confess, I am ready for warmer weather. The kids were thrilled to be outside. Little did they know what was in the plans for the day. They had easter eggs everywhere. The kids enjoyed hunting for eggs. Neither one found very many, but they thought the few they found were golden. I love that about my kids. They are so content with the small things and are not concerned with the quantity, but truly the quality. After the egg hunt, we went back to the Slocum's house and had a play date. It is amazing to watch how both of the kids have grown, even just in the past few weeks. They both are getting so sophisticated in their play. It is also such a joy to see how much they enjoy each other. There is no greater gift than the joy of watching your children grow. We had so much fun hunting for eggs in the park, we went to Target after our nap and bought more eggs to hide around the house. Our day was complete with Easter stories at bedtime. Tomorrow we plan on dyeing Easter eggs after church. We wish you were home, Daddy.
